David Provost

Until retiring in 2022, Dave served as Deputy Commissioner of Vermont’s Captive Insurance Division, responsible for the regulation of captive insurance companies and risk retention groups chartered in Vermont. He joined the Division in 2001 and was appointed Deputy in 2008. Dave has over 30 years of experience in captive insurance in both the private and government sectors. His prior experience includes work in the captive insurance arms of Johnson & Higgins, Sedgwick, and AIG, and he served as Treasurer of the Vermont Captive Insurance Association (VCIA). Dave holds degrees from the University of Vermont and Champlain College
